Take Time to Smell the Flowers
124/366

Today we planned a family day with an annual visit to the Meijer Gardens during the butterfly exhibit.  I picked this as my photo of the day because I like the overall composition and it shows how my sweet little girl enjoys something so simple. I love how she's so engrossed in the scent of a flower and how delicately her hands are positioned. This is a reflection in a mirror in case you're wondering about the white border.

Lucky Moment

Chelsea was fortunate enough to hold an Blue Morpho Butterfly for a few minutes. These butterflies have brilliant blue wings on the inside and brown on the outside to protect themselves from predators. They live in the tropical rainforest of Central and South America.  I was unable to catch this butterfly with it's wings opened, but it is beautiful when in flight

Below are photographs that were taken by my children. They see me with my camera all the time and constantly ask me if they can take a picture. Today I made their day when I actually said yes.  Chelsea took the top photo of Alex and me enjoying a smile together. Alex took the one of Chelsea. I had my camera on aperture priority and auto focus; both images are uncropped.  I love that Chelsea off centered us. I wonder where she ever learned such a thing?
