Spring | 2009

Vernal

The newness of spring also brings a new range of activities. We venture outdoors, clean-up our yards, get the bikes out, go for long walks and simply enjoy witnessing our neighborhoods come to life again. My spring becomes hectic all too soon, trying to keep up with appointments, school activities, soccer games and practices, planning parties, girl scouts, open houses, the list continues... I was able to chaperone my daughter's 2nd grade filed trip to Howard Christensen Nature Center where I took the above photo. It was a day filled with discovery and exploration. The students were most interested in finding the snakes, frogs and  turtles, but I was drawn to the tenderness of this flower crawling out from under a fallen tree limb. I  appreciate the differences we each notice as we become visually stimulated with newness all around us.
