Could you imagine working daily in this building? Lenawee County Courthouse is a beautiful structure which has special meaning to the Martin family. Grandpa became a public figure here, with a gavel in hand, serving his community for many, many years. We took the kids down to look around and also so we could reflect on the life he accomplished.
We found this tunnel attached on the side of the building, not certain what it's purpose was, but the kids certainly enjoyed running through and checking things out. I also found fantastic light at the tunnel entrance and photographed each child there. I think Grandpa would be delighted knowing these photos were taken at the old courthouse; I know I am.
Several years ago, I began a journey creating art with black and white film. Hours in the darkroom felt like minutes as I witnessed the true magic of my images appear on blank paper.
Today I still feel the magic as I take my artistic ability into my digital darkroom. My style is simple, natural, non-traditional, yet fun. I feel photography is much more than capturing one's physical features. It's about slowing down, stopping time and seeing the candid emotions in those moments, which I can preserve forever... just like magic.
I spend hours of my time shooting and processing my photos. They belong to ME. You may not copy, modify, sell, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, or license any photographs from this site without my written permission. Thank you for understanding the work of an artist :)
